Research Team

The project is organized by Mexican and Japanese institutions under the framework of “SATREPS” (Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development), a Japanese government program that promotes international joint research.
On the Mexican side, the Institute of Geophysics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) is leading the project through funding and its implementation, in close collaboration with the Mexican government at the federal, state and municipal levels.
On the Japanese side, the Kyoto University is leading the project with financial and administrative support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
