Researchers from this group are dedicated to the development of geophysical exploration methodologies applied to subsoil water resources, mining, geothermal studies; oil, gas and sedimentary basins prospecting, environmental geophysics, geotechnical studies and archaeology. Additionally remote sensing and mathematical modeling techniques of geophysical systems are carried on for stratigraphic and regional structural analysis research. A section of this group carries on research on geological exploration and geodesy applying remote sensing, satellite geodesy (GPS) and digital cartography (CARDI) techniques.
